Okay it’s actually nice that the Viz English release and original tankoubon that housed this chapter have the same cover art!

Before it comes up...both episodes are manga based.

Well THAT didn't take long...

Y'know...this episode makes me think of the whole Vivi situation in One Piece and yeah...you don't screw with public political figures and their offspring!
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode19 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

Also folks because I have the old Bandai "Anime Legends" set all I'm gonna say is this is another episode that it decided it didn't like my PS4 so renting it on Prime to wrap the night!
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode19 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

Also if I'm behind...it's Ghost in the Shell and I keep getting distracted by other stuff. I'd rather take my time and absorb the episode to get the full meaning of it.

FUNERAL GO BOOM!!!
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode18 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

Also folks it happens! For example I'm one of the few folks that watched the entire run of Kekkashi on adult swim and Monster on SyFy. Certain shows I just missed the boat on!
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode18 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

It's always funny how I completely missed out on Ghost in the Shell airing on Adult Swim Action/Toonami so this is my 1st dedicated watch!
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode18 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

Yes, I'm still watching. But with GiTS I like to give episodes my undivided attention so I don't miss details on things.

SWAT Dude: What do mean "personal"?
(Sees Majors cleavage, then gets gutpunched)

Y'know for some people I know...
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode17 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

Aramaki in a hostage situation.
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode17 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

(Hears how Aramaki's "friend" is talking)
Even in this post-Cowboy Bebop era of dubbing this is still around the time that some LA dubs hadn't completely mastered natural performances out of its bit characters.
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode17 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

"An old friend, huh?"
It's clear Aramaki be getting some!
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode17 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

Nice, we're in the UK tonight! I actually have friends who live here!

Y'know the woman with the Scottish accent reminds of the Witch Hat Atelier dub which gave everyone distinct UK-based regional accents and it completely elevated the overall dub!
