Hey everyone! So, I've had my commissions closed for a long time, and life has been bumpy, but I think I may have some time to open 1-2 cover slots, depending on volume and deadline, starting soon. Wouldn't mind some fantasy/ttrpg work. Some samples:

Our magazine has a long title, but we love short fiction, it’s all we publish. Stories that stir fear and joy into a coupe glass. Stories that build a skyscraper of bones and blood. Stories that dig a hole in a star to reach its tender heart. Help us keep doing this!

no offense to those of us still struggling with a little brain poison but it really weirds me out when I see people discussing fiction in a way that frames any sexual content as a value negative by default that must 'earn' or otherwise justify its presence

I was also thinking recently about how my writing is sometimes charged with being pretentious. I don’t think it is - it’s poetic but my work is still about working people and common experiences of grief, economic precarity, toxic relationships. To me, pretentious lit is boring rich people problems.

Alt vers that I like it better.

Coen, the main protagonist in blood of dawnwalker. He has a lot of blood on his mouth, cheek, and jaw, and his eye is glowing in the shade.

still submitting this one but rest assured it is Very Gross. keep an eye out for fucked up weird western horror, featuring a possessed horse, fae magic, and psychic witches with snake parasites

The pale lump of flesh has the face of a fawn, so sweet and blue-eyed that I can tell just by looking at it that it had no chance of breathing. A tawny snout grabs it by the glass-skin of its neck and in a moment that face is a leaking pulp; it crushed clay-like between the canines by the sounds of it, and I’m thinking that that shouldn’t taste very good, all that clay and rubber baby bone, all that salted heartsblood and ruby lungs and—I’m thinking look at the saliva dripping from that long, long tongue and the moment those fangs pop through the skin and then look: it drinks so slowly, the bitch.

Dread of the White Dog (Fantasy)

A short blurb and excerpt from the short story Dread of the White Dog:

what did the hunter see when he shot you? you have always been a little wrong, the knowing glint of your eye, the humanish lilt to your bark, but you have wanted for nothing than the scent of your pups growing into yearlings and to live, live, live. the thing that saves your life takes the shape of a brown-eyed soft-tongued friend. it asks for little in return.

'“Do not fear death, wolf. Those touched by my hand never die. What is it that you desire?”'

BRIDE / BUTCHER / DOE (Strange Horizons)

A screenshot with a short blurb and excerpt from the short story BRIDE / BUTCHER / DOE:

it’s hard to love her. but you do, all the same. you’ll kill for her, too; the jungle is full of things that will not die but for your gun. you’ll find them and turn them into sludge for her, warp her flesh and heal her, but one night you find something else in the woods, and it wants her, too.

"They don’t age. When they are dragged into cages, they throw themselves into the bars until their spines break in two. When their fetuses are placed into the wombs of mainland roe deer, they are delivered as faceless lumps of gray flesh. They tolerate only those pure of heart, unsullied by childbirth, by marriage, by sex. They will spear men through the heart with the single horn that sprouts between their eyes; they will take children by the scruff and spirit them away. They will eat anything."

Womb-Bed (Her Fruiting Body)

Screenshot of a short blurb and excerpt from the short story Womb-Bed:

what are you? parasite or resurrectionist? what is your mother? a shapechanger or a god? what must you steal away for a chance at survival?

"I drink up everything it once was. Rot seeps out of my stigmata to be lapped up by the ocean. Meat churns in my caudex, fibers blushed pulsing hot weave into muscle. I card petals into hairs. And the teeth—the teeth are the same teeth."

Seen Thrice in Serpent's Flesh (FIYAH)

A screenshot of a tumblr post with a short blurb and excerpt from the short story Seen Thrice in Serpent's Flesh:

you’re a general in etruscia and, having witnessed the dead walk again, you consult an oracle for answers–but instead, you’re shown the threads of the world splitting apart and dragged back to the horror of your past.

"You will need to forget to breathe, Kalliros. Forget the fingers in your throat. Forget Python sliding into your stomach. In this brief and precious moment, you must forget you have a body at all. Do not fear. We are holding you.

We will look to the sky, first, because this is where it began. The Maiden Astraea has left Her throne."
