Four days to go! Nerve wracking! Please help the folks at @lightspeedmagazine.com sleep at night.
We are $600 away from halfway there. If you can share, thank you. I got moved to rehab four days ago, and I'm learning to walk again. π€

Great time to boost @seraph76.bsky.social's book "Call and Response" from Neon Hemlock! It is Black History Month in the UK, Black Speculative Fiction Month, International Creole Heritage Month, and LGBTQIA+ History Month in the US! Every day is a good day to boost Christopher's work! π€π€π€

A little longer episode for a little longer shortlist: @chloroformtea.bsky.social & @casella.bsky.social talk through the 9 books on the @ursulakleguin.com Fiction Prize shortlist!
was just listening to this again, still need to read BURNING BRIGHT by @blueterraplane.bsky.social
Fiction Standout #1:
The Mystery of the Bitten Peach by @ceciliatan.com involves time travel and history and love, and my favorite part of it is the way the end plays out.
I just finished reading The Mystery of the Bitten Peach by Cecilia Tan, and what a fun, thought provoking romp through time and relationship and identity. I still canβt believe how much was packed into 131 pages.
Bin durch mit "Shatter the Sun - Queer Tales of Untold Adventure". Meine neun Favoriten: - The Storm's Gift (Elizabeth Birdsall) - The White Spire at World's End (S.A. Chant) - Return to Sundra (Elwin Cotman) - One Man's Poison (Anya Ow) - We Gaze Upon Her With No Eyes (Faye Gabriel & Kat Weaver)
if you've read "Spider-God" (out now in Neon Hemlock's SHATTER THE SUN!) then you know Tadhg the spider-priest takes this "eat the rich" business pretty seriously

I'd have lined up anyway! Sublimation is in the nightstand bookpile. π Plus I loved her Omelas story. And I wish Becky Chambers had been there this year! One of my friends (a terrific writer, see below) was on a panel with Barbara Hambly and Harry Turtledove and I was like, holy hell man!!
Guess who's got an awesome new writing gig! IndieReader is letting me gush about backlist indie titles for them, and of course my first one had to cover LD Lewis' The Dead Withheld.
