The reveal is so satisfying 😊 We are putting a lot of work into improving the app. If you have any difficult to read/see material, we'd love to hear from you.
Looks like you summon your code with your grimoire 🤭
I'm giving @martin.rocek.dev a headache with lots of requests for Translucens, but soon we'll have a bunch of QoL improvements for you.
Personally love the binarizarion preview. Super useful for preparing our ground truth for the HTR Winter School!
If you are in Graz, don't miss this talk! And if you're not, take a look at manu.is and vocabula.lat anyway 🤩
The Centre for Medieval Studies invites you to a lecture by Alice Raw entitled "Pleasure-as-Method. Reading Sources for Women's Sexuality in Later Medieval England"
📍 Edda Auditorium
📅 15 October, 16:30-17:30
We've been busy developing Translucens with @vanlinduist.bsky.social! Soon you'll be able to try the updated interface with tool categories, and a new tool that brings faint, erased text back into view. It's also much faster now.
I feel so seen by every post in this thread 👇

I’m spending an unhealthy amount of time on this, but it’s so fun! 😅 I’ve added circles showing how the shock traveled across land and sea.

Yeah meanwhile I was peacefully sleeping through this one but cool to play with it 😂

A plea for more dialogue between traditional philology and DH. Yes, DH researchers need to do a better job of explaining our methods, tools and their uses outside our bubble. But openness has to go both ways. We also need a willingness to talk to us before judging what technology can and cannot do.
Reminder to all Old Norse PGRs and ECRs! The next NECRON event is happening NEXT WEEK! Hope to see many of you there 🌟

Amazing opportunity to spend 2 weeks learning semantic web technologies and the creation of LOD, named entities (NLP, NER) via authority files and the use of GIS and IIIF. It's great fun! If you have students at one of the partner institutions, pass this on to them 😊
