Entertaining seawatch as the wind hit NW off Coastguards this PM. For a while it was quite lively, bu tailed off post 1630. Sooty Shears are always smart, one reasonably close, ditto some Manx. Best, the ranks of Brents passing by. Welcome home 🙂

Yellow-browed Warbler at church norton annoyingly elusive and mobile but has permitted a few 30s views

Year to date 211 species, which is second highest at this point, only behind last year on 213. 155 species in September, just above average, with six additions to the year list: Cory’s Shearwater, Grey Phalarope, Wryneck, Woodlark, Gropper and Brambling.

A brilliant day for passage offshore. Most notable totals included 68 DB Brents, 12 Shoveler, 20 Wigeon, 45 Pintail, 25 Teal, six Redshank, 50 Little Gull, two Sooty, two Manx and 141 Balearic Shearwater. The highlight was a probable first for Dungeness in the form of a Sunfish drifting east.

The highlight of seawatching at Girdle Ness today was my first Black Tern of the year, but this 'close enough for record shots' Sooty Shearwater was just as enjoyable. Also, 2 Little Gulls, 4 Arctic Skuas, 2 Manx Shearwaters and a Great Skua.
