I was exploring today and discovered an artisan honey shop! I immediately thought of two different friends I know, and I love how one of them is a beekeeper, and the other is a bear. X3

My favourite Kaixa story is that, during the filming of the show, Kohei Murakami (Kusaka/Kaixa) would check internet forum threads about the episodes that had aired, and if he found anyone being positive or sympathetic towards Kusaka he would get really mad and vow to play him *even worse*.

For example, a lot of the language has its roots in early 20th century kabuki and bunraku puppetry theatre. There's a long history of physicality and abstraction in the performances, and non-verbal communication. (IMO in a similar way to mascot and fursuit performance.)

I think like a lot of media (e.g. video games; musicals; soap operas; puppet shows, etc.) toku uses a particular storytelling language and tradition that looks utterly baffling from the outside looking in, and requires a level of sincere buy-in and willingness to meet it on its terms.
