Dear neighbor Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) has announced its plans to close up to 16 schools, which means thousands of students would be shuffled around. Including Longfellow Alternative High School and Heritage STEM Academy in the 9th Ward. 1/

Happy first day of early voting, Minnesota! I’m on the ballot this year, and we have a lot of work to do. I’m ready to keep fighting for safer communities, fully funded public schools, protecting the Boundary Waters, affordable health care for all, and keeping weapons of war out of our communities💜

For decades we’ve had school shootings and seen government do nothing. I’m proud that today we passed my bill to ban assault weapons for the first time in MN history. We can never bring back Harper & Fletcher, but today we can say we did all we could to make sure no family endures this ever again.
