Damn. I managed to advance order the book twice (yes, I know, I’m an idiot…) and ended up with one signed and one unsigned copy. I’ve just gifted the latter on to someone - clearly I have missed an investment opportunity.

The mitigations needed would all be on what CEC has designated the Primary Cycle Network, and the policy is that segregated provision should be made on that. So the ask would be fully within CEC policy.

I’m actually reasonably in alignment with your views around the use of Roseburn, but I think there is good reason to feel nervous about the value engineering that would undoubtedly happen in the run up to start of construction.

Key question of course is whether lessons have been learnt to the necessary extent: i.e. would such routes (more than one needed, I think) actually be built and be of sufficient quality to feel like a replacement? That sort of trust really needs to be earned by CEC.
