I also do this and have often thought about why, and have come to the conclusion; it will take longer to make a note to do it later than it would just to fix it there and then.

I started as a web designer December 28th 1996 and I get what @seldo.com means that "you had to be there".
The current AI trend does not feel like so much a bubble to me, more like something that will evolve, adapt and survive.
That said, the potential for it to be used for evil is worryingly high.

I used lowsrc extensively back in the day, even for transitions e.g. from architectural drawings to photographs of the finished buildings. I've been asking forever why we don't still use it. And isn't it beautiful that we have all grown old in this weird and wonderful industry.
