WRITE!!! BAD!!! FICS!!! people really need to realize that the only way to write good fics is to write bad ones. the only way to get less AI slop is to be okay with the bad human fics. the only way to have fun and learn is to get really comfortable with bad writing.

Then why did he unwaveringly stand with Israel through his presidency and fund their oppression of Palestine. That’s on top of doing his own war criminal shit against muslims in the Middle East. Fuck Obama. Fuck Bush. Fuck Biden. Fuck Trump. War criminals, every last one.

The counterpoint is that I’ve only ever wanted Plex to stream my private media, and they made it so bad at doing so that I switched to Jellyfin last year.

GOOD! Now let’s also prioritize reducing car use overall. More rail. More bike lanes. More mixed-use and walkable suburbs. Less sprawl. Fewer roads.

Oh gosh, yes! My favorite! "Whoa, what are you, sick or something!?" Nope, just trying not to be, you giant turd.

I get a lot of people acting like I must be dangerously sick… while they’re raw dogging everyone else’s air without a care in the world.

You remember how weird people would get about not being able to see other people’s kids smiles when schools had mandatory masking?

@cferdinandi.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 2:53 AM

I don't mean to dismiss the very real and acutely serious danger this poses to immunocompromised folks. This makes it even harder for people who already struggle to exist in society because of systemic barriers. But I've also seen how easily people dismiss anything thats "just for disabled folks."

@cferdinandi.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 2:52 AM

Focusing on immunocompromised people makes it easier for the general public to dismiss masking rights as a fringe issue. ANYONE can suffer serious long-term health effects from COVID, regardless of underlying or pre-existing health conditions. Masking is public health for everyone.

Every now and then I'll chat about Dungeon Crawler Carl with someone and learn that a lot of folks don't see the (to me) VERY obvious political overtones in the book. It's wild!

My god. A Virginia data center ran backup diesel generators full blast for 24 hours, creating a giant cloud of toxic smoke that choked its human neighbors. The government claimed there was nothing they could do.
