This #WorldMentalHealthDay the theme is 'Lived experiences heard: Real voices, real change'.
This is particularly pertinent to what we do at Frontline19, listening to the experiences of healthcare workers who come to us for counselling.
A 🧵 1/8
I was naively full of hope at the new PM, but he's just like all the rest. Telling the NHS to "live within its means" and assuming that bunging in a few quid for winter at the last minute will stop the carnage. FFS, when will they learn & how many more must be sacrificed on the altar of stupidity.
Trigger Warning: Domestic abuse
Healthcare workers experience domestic abuse too. It isn't always physical, and no one should face it alone.
Frontline19 offers free, confidential counselling to NHS and frontline staff affected by abuse.

“Corridor care has become a dangerous, year-round reality in hospitals up and down the country. Govt cannot talk seriously about patient safety while accepting it as a normalised way of running the NHS.”
Nice to get in a rare named quote from yours truly, and pleased that my words made the headline.
Having a public outlet for anger - and occasionally getting to put your own name to it - is one of the perks of being a press officer.
Nothing makes me more disenchanted with the state of the world than reading the Facebook comments on covid-related news posts. No Karen, it's not the flu, and yes, it's (sadly) real. I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain it to you.
Love this! My husband used to doodle the 2 in all his school textbooks, so funny
It takes BBC 2 to make a thing go right... Remember these idents? You just might. Just a little something from me 2 you:
On my way down to Bath, fully laden with posters, leaflets & display equipment for tomorrow’s doctors wellbeing event at Royal United hospital.
Looking forward to giving a talk and running a @frontline19.bsky.social stall. It’ll be nice to meet some of the people our work supports 💚
There is a worldwide crisis of burnout in the medical profession and doctors need to work together to find solutions. Doctors at the International Conference of Physician Health are hoping to identify ways to combat some of the challenges contributing to ill-health among healthcare professionals.
The interest rate setting body was set up by Tony Blair, but she's still an idiot.
Our Co-Chair @drtonyosullivan.bsky.social said:
"The lesson could not be clearer: when commercial incentives enter healthcare, robust safeguards, transparency and public accountability are essential, and in this case they catastrophically failed."
Today we pause to remember those health and care workers we have lost to suicide, which happens alarmingly often. We must foster a culture where staff feel supported and cared for at their worst

It's #WorldSuicidePreventionDay
We know how tragically common suicide is among NHS staff. But we also know that the right support at the right time can save a life - we’ve seen it happen.

Today, Dr Ian Higginson, President of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, responded to the publication of the National Audit Office (NAO) report ‘Managing the flow of patients through hospital from A&E’.
“The system is in a state of permacrisis"
