@Edent A readme should not ask people to make any decisions they are not equipped to make. "How do I move my config from. .env to inline" belongs later in the advanced questions.
@Edent well, it's very good. My only comment is with the line
If you prefer, you can edit index.php and place the details in there.
If i don't know how anything works yet, don't ask me to express a preference! Why might I prefer this to a .env file? What difference does it make? If none, why […]
@Edent my most common problem following a readme is that it worked when it was written, but an update to a dependency means that now something the readme writer has no control over has changed.
@Edent sadly I think your well intentioned efforts will come to nothing, because to be actually useful your readme file will have to tell users how to recover from errors that are *going to be thrown* in three major OS versions time.
This just raised a titter

@paul_edwin we tried walking a stretch by Heddon-on-the-Wall whilst the children were doing a music thing at Ponteland High School a few months ago, and it was a bit grim - a trudge through a field right next to an A road. Quite put us off the Wall. Is the rest of it better?
Finally, I've got all the last minute emergencies out of the way, and I can make a start on the work that I really wanted to achieve this week.
If you publish any #OpenSource and you want people to use it, may I please implore you to test your README?
Can you actually follow the steps you've written down? Does it work if the user doesn't have the same development packages installed as you? […]
Eva Marie Saint dying at 102 is one of those reminders of how compressed our modern history is -- like, it hardly even seems like 'history' when someone who was still alive last week was already 20 years old when Nazi Germany fell.
Anyway here's the link if you can be arsed - https://theconversation.com/smokers-have-a-lower-risk-of-parkinsons-we-may-have-found-out-why-293270?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-gb
"Heroin addicts less likely to die from Alzheimers" "Being run over by a bus statistically correlated with not dying of cancer", etc
Wild stab in the dark - is it because they die before they have time to develop Parkinsons?
When I just ask for an email-based login link to my email address, I can see options to sign in as me, and as my other daughter (account REDACTED2) but not the REDACTED1 account. What is wrong with the REDACTED1 account? I can't find anywhere in the parental control UI to allows me to turn 2FA […]
One of my daughters (account REDACTED1) can't log in to Roblox on her Amazon tablet. Her account is linked to mine and I can see it in the parental controls. When she enters her password she gets a 2FA challenge, which offers to send an email. I have tried her email address and my email address […]
Here is a message I sent to Roblox support chat. You have three guesses as to how much fucking help the AI was:
Reading the book Return to Akenfield (2006), and there's an interview with a 90 year old gamekeeper. He's complaining and at one point he says the young men these days don't know how to find a soft mouth. Several sentences later it turns out this refers to a dog that won't damage a pheasant.
Fuse, n., business jargon: A person who is accountable for the outcome but has no authority over the process. Their purpose is to be fired and replaced with another fuse when something goes wrong, protecting managers who have authority over the process from being held accountable for its […]
And so the summer blockbuster of 2030 will be The Big-Tittied Wizards/Jedis vs. Big-Tittied Transformers VII: Faster and Furiouser, Also It's The Matrix
