If you or someone you know has questions about your rights, call the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs legal support hotline at 800-354-0365, or call 311 and say “Immigration Legal.” Help is available in your language.

I’m holding this family in my heart, hoping for a full recovery but not sure how a kid recovers from this, or how all the other kids who’ve hung on for dear life while their families were ripped apart recover. ICE wore safety vests but we’re the ones who need to be protected from them.

Another man shot by ICE. Another child forced to witness the horror from the back seat.

Another example of how costly — in time and money — these practices are and how impossible it feels to avoid them or demand accountability for them. You deserve better! We all do.

@juliesulabor.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 10:24 PM

Yes. And too many practices fall through the cracks of what is specifically recognized as “law breaking.” It’s those costly, annoying, harmful, abusive practices that everyday people need the power to combat.

We will build not only an economy but a city that works for working people.

Often, corporate practices that steal time and money from workers and consumers are designed to push the limit of prohibited practices. We will equip New Yorkers with new tools to take on predatory companies, bad landlords, scammers, and other actors who exploit them.

An excellent piece about how an Office of Worker Power is good for workers, cities, a sense of belonging, and democracy. Durham, here to help!

Thank you again @jackcocchiarella.bsky.social for having me on to talk about the historic outcome of @hellodcwp.bsky.social investigation of DoorDash. Let us be clear: no company can hide behind an app and get away with stealing the hard-earned pay of working New Yorkers.

@juliesulabor.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 4:16 PM

It takes a lot for workers to come forward to report wage theft. Because of the incredible organizing of Los Deliveristas Unidos and @workersjusticep.bsky.social, NYC workers have won important protections. But these are only meaningful if enforced.

#ICYMI last week: Mayor Mamdani, Deputy Mayor Su, and Commissioner Levine announced a historic enforcement action against DoorDash for systemic violations of NYC’s Delivery Worker Laws.

One of my favorite things about being NYC’s Deputy Mayor for Economic Justice is hearing what New Yorkers want from their government and what it feels like when they feel truly seen. I had fun sitting down with @jackcocchiarella.bsky.social to talk about this and much more.

@juliesulabor.bsky.socialOct 2, 2026, 1:35 AM

As businesses increasingly use artificial intelligence, algorithms, and other automated technologies to make decisions and deliver services, our agencies are united on a fundamental principle: New Yorkers do not lose their rights when a decision is made or facilitated by technology.

@juliesulabor.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 1:45 PM

Yes! That’s why the settlement includes a partnership with the Workers Justice Project & the Workers’ Algorithm Observatory to build a platform that will allow us to analyze workers’ data, not just rely on DoorDash’s data (which the company also has to submit to @hellodcwp.bsky.social for 3 years).

@juliesulabor.bsky.socialSep 27, 2026, 12:21 AM

Great to stand with Committee on Consumer & Worker Protection Chair @harveyepstein.bsky.social, @shaunabreu.bsky.social, @cmsandynurse.bsky.social, @cmjengutierrez.bsky.social, and @bradlander.bsky.social. When workers’ rights are violated, they should know that we have their backs.

@juliesulabor.bsky.socialSep 27, 2026, 12:10 AM

DoorDash workers will also have the power to protect their rights going forward through the new compliance monitoring program. We know that giving workers power in the workplace to protect themselves is critical and this settlement does just that.

@juliesulabor.bsky.socialSep 27, 2026, 12:10 AM

The DoorDash settlement is proof that enforcement matters. And in this administration, if you steal workers’ wages, it’s not enough to just pay what you should have paid in the first place.

No one’s earnings should be obscured behind an app, no one’s wages cut by an algorithm.

@hellodcwp.bsky.social just reached a historic settlement of $131.5 million on behalf of delivery drivers.

New Yorkers, here’s what you need to know about this week’s nor’easter:

The storm is expected to pass offshore, keeping the heaviest rain east of New York City. But we should still prepare for gusty winds, rain, and some high-tide flooding beginning today, peaking Friday, and potentially continuing through Sunday.

If you live near the coast, move your car to higher ground or away from streets that regularly flood.

Secure loose outdoor items, including furniture and garbage containers, that could be picked up by strong winds.
Storm tracks can change, so please stay informed and be prepared.

For emergency alerts, text NOTIFYNYC to 692-692.
