Zoom isn't my favorite w kids. Administration likes them because they're less expensive, but the electricity w the kids isn't the same. And the value of #authorvisits is kids' excitement in seeing a human behind the book. Plus, kids fire me up & I know I'm a better presenter in person. #kidlitchat

I'm with you. I love small group presentations. And, I'll admit it, if I'm presenting in a gym or multipurpose room, I always ask for a techsavvy helper. Teacher, kid, coach, whatever #kidlitchat

As far as $$$ When I first left the classroom & began writing, I did #Authorvisits for free because I'm a teacher at heart & knew about funds. My publisher actually heard about that & asked me to stop, since many authors make a substantial part of their income from appearances #KitLiChat

It's happened to me twice. Once w an adult, a Marine, who said he wouldn't "take orders from a girl" & one a boy trying to make weight for wrestling team. He was more like your boy. When i just said his name he began crying #kidlitchat
