In my Selling Yourself (without selling yourself short) workshops, I always advise folks, when they do offer (rare) free #AuthorVisits, to always have a signed invoice anyway, where the full cost is listed & the discount (and reason for it) is shown. That way they see what a bargain they're getting.

Zoom isn't my favorite w kids. Administration likes them because they're less expensive, but the electricity w the kids isn't the same. And the value of #authorvisits is kids' excitement in seeing a human behind the book. Plus, kids fire me up & I know I'm a better presenter in person. #kidlitchat

As far as $$$ When I first left the classroom & began writing, I did #Authorvisits for free because I'm a teacher at heart & knew about funds. My publisher actually heard about that & asked me to stop, since many authors make a substantial part of their income from appearances #KitLiChat
