@bcfmwu.bsky.socialThis Thanksgiving, we’re thankful for the members bringing families together and the families sharing their loved ones with us while they’re on shift. 🍂
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialTo the workers helping families get together this Thanksgiving, often away from your own, we’re thankful for you, and we’ve got your back.🍂 buff.ly/GuLgeht
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialPhoto of the week: Summer F Watch, bringing the spirit of family, teamwork and fun! 💛 Thanks to Pee-Jay from Local 1’s Good and Welfare Committee for sharing.
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialA little kindness in a ferry lineup can go a long way. Just ask Rebecca Stephens, who spreads kindness and compassion from her ticket booth in Nanaimo. 💛 Read her story: buff.ly/uEdpwHg
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialEmployers have a legal duty to protect workers. Know your rights and where to get help. 🛡️ buff.ly/YYFKQ4K #WorkerSafety #KnowYourRights #SafeWorkplaces
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialWhen candidates knock on your door, tell them what matters to you, whether it’s affording a home, getting the training to move ahead or feeling safe at work. We keep the coast connected. We deserve to be heard. Let’s make our votes count. 🗳️ buff.ly/1yrQTwh #bcpoli #BCElxn #BCElection #BCVotes
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialMandatory arbitration lets employers wait out workers. We've lived it. Bill C-39 could give federally regulated employers the same advantage. Read why we’re want MPs to amend it: buff.ly/Lrx8VFu #CanadianPolitics #Cdnpoli #BCpoli #bclab
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialPhoto of the Week: You never know who you’ll meet on deck. 🐾 Thanks to Omid Omidbakhsh for sending this one in!
@seiulocal2.bsky.socialReposted by @bcfmwu.bsky.socialNico Wynd Golf workers in Surrey are on strike!
Approximately 30 employees at Nico Wynd Golf in Surrey are on strike over seniority rights, unpaid wages, and harassment, says SEIU Local 2 of the groundskeepers, restaurant servers & cooks, and a pro-shop clerk.
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialToday, we remember the children who never came home from residential schools and honour survivors and their families. 🧡
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialEvery day, we connect Indigenous communities along our coast. We're wearing orange to stand with them for National Truth and Reconciliation Day. 🧡
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialPhoto of the Week: Spirit of Vancouver Island C Watch puts its rescue boat training into action after dark. Thanks to Lucas McLean for sharing this great shot of the skill and teamwork behind every safe sailing. 💪
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialEvery sailing depends on the skill, experience and judgment of ferry workers, on deck, in the engine room, at terminals and behind the scenes. This World Maritime Day, we recognize every member who brings their skills and passion to work, every day. ⚓🌍

@bcfmwu.bsky.socialBC Ferries says better service is the result of workers, not management. But members have been waiting almost a year for a collective agreement while management got wage increases. ⏳
@bcfmwu.bsky.social📣 Local 3 members, your next general meeting is Thursday, September 24, with sessions from 1 to 2:30 pm and 3 to 4:30 pm. Come get informed, ask questions and have your say!
@bcfmwu.bsky.social📸 Photo of the week: A little engine trouble back in April couldn’t keep the Queen down. After a stressful morning of repairs by our members, the Queen of Surrey heads from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo. Thanks to Jay Moore for the photo!
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialLocal 11 marked Labour Day with good food, great company (including retired member Clive Quigley on guitar) and our union truck front and centre. 🚙 Thanks to everyone who celebrated Labour Day and honoured the workers who fought for the rights we have today.
@bcfmwu.bsky.socialWe’re incredibly proud of our members aboard the Spirit of British Columbia and Coastal Renaissance whose skill and quick action rescued two boaters Sunday. Another reminder of the vital work ferry workers do to keep our coast safe. 🛟👏
