Independent voters deserve to be heard and not to be forced to pick a ballot. #mapoli

You know whatâs really spooky? Massachusettsâ 98% incumbency rate. Itâs time to shake up our primaries, make our elections competitive, and give voters REAL choice.
Why Question 3 makes party consolidation visible to voters instead of leaving it to one-eighth of one percent of the electorate. @dsallentess.bsky.social

đ˘ Did you knowâ A recent CommonWealth Beacon survey conducted by the MassINC Polling Group found that Question 3 had the support of 43 percent of likely voters, with 36 percent opposed and 20 percent undecided.
Exciting, talented challengers shouldnât be shut out of the election during a low-turnout, low-attention summer primary.
Vote YES on 3 by November 3rd to shake up our system and give power back to the people. #mapoli

How can we move forward with other electoral reform if the legislature doesnât listen to us? #mapoli
Independent candidates are completely ignored in the current system. If someone includes "this would be bad for 3rd parties/independents", that is a clear signal that they are not arguing in good faith.
One of the wildest claims the "No on 3" crowd makes is that Q3 (top-2 primaries) would be bad for independent candidates. Last night was the Senate debate between Markey & Deaton. Not included? Tache, who has raised over a quarter of a million dollars, and has more volunteers than Deaton.

Three reasons to vote yes on Ballot Question 3:
I'm seeing arguments against Question 3 that basically amount to uncompetitive general elections are a good thing. The idea that it's bad for working class candidates because they'd have to campaign for more. Or that primaries create a pipeline for progressive groups.

Weâre grateful to be endorsed by Fitchburgâs own Sentinel & Enterprise:
More people turn out to vote for the general election in November, when many of our races are already decided, than turn out for the primary election in September for the decision. Question 3 would help to change that so that more of us are involved in choosing our government.

After running for office, Iâm more supportive of All Party Primaries.
1. It makes November the election that matters
2. Getting attention and scrutiny in easier in September and October
3. We have the least competitive elections in the country
