Oh, wow: The BC Greens are putting up former chief coroner Lisa Lapointe as their candidate in Saanich South, which means she will be up against NDP candidate and former legislative reporter Richard Zussman, and Conservative candidate Cathie Ounsted
"You selflessly put yourselves to the side for this cause, and it's something that most people wouldn't do,” Justice Murray said in court.
"You should be very proud of yourselves. It’s people like you who make a difference - and it has.”

huge victory for DULF — also a great day to support @defactomedia.ca which has excellent coverage of this case
It has been over 11 years since the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada released its 93 calls to action.
Since then, 14 of them have been completed.
That is just 15%. In over a decade.
Really good news. Safe supply has been proven to save lives and this was one of the most high profile cases trying to make it happen
5(2) is unconstitutional in part because 56 doesn't offer a real safety valve for non-medicalized safe supply
This decision made me a bit teary today. It's a huge step in the right direction.
