@samstokes Yes, I really wish I never gave any campaign my phone #. Emails are bad enough.

@gottalaff.bsky.social Probably it happened this way: She proposed to just say "unilaterally". Trump said "no one knows what that word means", because he doesn't. So she changed it to "unilaterally, all by himself".

@sundogplanets They say they have to do 1000 evasive maneuvers per day. I would guess that as the number of manuvers needed would go up as the square of the number of objects, since every satellite has to avoid every other one. If so, if they make their fleet 10x larger which is less than they […]

@zachweinersmith.bsky.social When I was young I wondered why everyone wouldn't just know who the princesses are, how many of them could they have? But the German speaking parts of Europe were split into several hundred tiny mini-kingdoms in the Middle Ages, I learned later, so there was plenty […]

@GottaLaff @stux I think it is a bridge problem. It should either treat a bsky quote as a quote that has permission, or a link if the quoted person hasn't enabled the bridge. The "pending" status s ridiculous and it was a mistake that Mastodon ever created that limbo setting.

@Leszek_Karlik The traditional IT daemons are little programs that run in the background and do what you want in a predictable way. So maybe we can call the LLM agent variety chaos daemons.

@Holberg As a Californian, I can assure you that they blame Newsom, not Trump, for the price of gasoline. That is just how they think.

@Holberg The explanation for the contradiction is that a family of four does not need an income of $248k to live comfortably in Nevada, unless the authors are defining "comfortably" to mean "living the lifestyle of the top 5%".

@wjmaggos It appears that YouTube is carrying the trailer, they just are refusing to accept paid ads for it. Which means that few people will find it, but we can share it. It's trending now.

@skinnylatte A lot of people think of SF as a leftist city, but it has been largely taken over by tech billionaires. They run as Democrats, but they have been captured by the big money.

@gottalaff.bsky.social These are the three conservatives who sometimes vote against him when he gets too crazy even for him. Notice that he didn't invite Thomas or Alito.

@skinnylatte I did that climb a long time ago. I have enough acrophobia that I did not look down and stayed as far as I could from edges at the top, but I did manage to do it, thanks to friends. It was a dry November and before social media so very uncrowded that day.

@lowqualityfacts That is what they train LLMs to do, except that instead of gaslighting they say sorry and spout out the second opinion that pops into their "head".

@ifixcoinops If there is a Nigel, there has to be an innit.

@ianRobinson CS Lewis straight up said that Aslan is Jesus. But yes, Greta Gerwig is great, so I am wondering what she will do with it.

@mattblaze That is, we can see it but can't take an accurate digital photo of what we see.

@mattblaze Recently I learned that there is a quite substantial range of colors, generally cyan, that computers and digital photos cannot display because no RGB combination will match; you would need negative red.

@zachweinersmith.bsky.social I am not a fan of this kind of forced choice problem (trolley problems and the like) because the real world is more complex than the limited choices given. In this case, I would try to find some way to help my friend get justice or to otherwise fix the damage, and […]
