My 2nd bout gave me a nodule on my lung. My dad and his wife were diagnosed with lung cancer within a couple of years after recovering from the same strain. They both died one year apart. Monitor your lungs for cancer and asthma.

Thank you Laura @laurapensiero.bsky.social for sharing your experience that many others can relate to. I also experienced reactivation of Herpes viruses and Valtrax also helps reduce my symptoms.

For the question, I wanted to add impacts on organs, immune system + tumor growth but held it back. My dad & his wife died within a couple of years due to Lung cancer after catching the same strain. I developed a nerve tumor after my first, a lung nodule after my second. My immune system is a mess.
