Nico is reviewing spec poetry, which means the *world* to me. Getting people interested in reading poetry is hard--you have to make it accessible to them, in a way that doesn't condescend, but at the same time, makes the process less scary. Which they manage admirably! Check out Nico's Patreon!
8. “The Dragons of Kepler-62 b” by @deborahldavitt.bsky.social in @sfpoetry.bsky.social's Eye to the Telescope
A vivid, fierce setting with a grand and sweeping atmosphere. Lovely blend of SF & F that captures the ancient, free spirit of its dragons.

In light of some magazines pulling scummy things on creators lately, I’m doing a little thread on short story rights. I don't want anybody getting taken advantage of. Also, if you're new, this stuff can be confusing!
friday is for kafkaposting
hello, I am doing some research and would like to tap into the collective brains of BSKY: 1. can you share some genre or literary fiction magazines that have closed and the archive is NO LONGER ONLINE 2. the same but the archives remain online FOR NOW i would also appreciate RTs for awareness 💀
So, an update on moving: I may get the chance to stay in Seattle in the next 3 months or so. I've talked to people and they think they can get me settled to move by the time I go back to FL in December. So, if you'd like to give me an early birthday gift and help me stay out there, here you go:
The Apex Magazine 2027 Kickstarter is currently at 38% of our initial funding goal! Do you want more strange, shocking, surreal, and beautiful stories in 2027? Back today to help us get there! www.kickstarter.com/projects/ape...
So, just to recap: if you want to celebrate International Lesbian Day with some short fiction by a lesbian, I gotcha covered. These are some of my favorites, but you can find all my other work on my website: christinehanolsy.com

Ah that makes sense, I've done some tile layouts like this of book covers with the same proportions but not with the different sizes. Apologies that I couldn't be more helpful!
When I've created designs like this one I've used Canva to arrange the images with the covers' edges parallel to the sides of the design and then rotated everything 45 degrees once I like the setup!
🧵 Attention, Fellow SFF Artists and Authors -- here is my response to Must Read Magazines, after they presented an Asimov's art contract expecting me to waive all Moral Rights and Copyright to my art. And, I would strongly advise the following to my fellow pros…. 1/
We are now OPEN TO SUBMISSIONS from all 2SLGBTQIA+ authors! Issue 4's theme: EXPLORATION. Send us stories and poems that interpret the concept of exploration in abstract or literal ways, internal or external, strange and surreal—don't self-reject 🪐🗡️

writers: remember that we must be in solidarity with our artist comrades. this affects all creatives. do not be like those quislings who disdain genai writing but eagerly use genai imagery.
Also a reminder that if a magazine is being shady before a contract is signed, you can just pull the piece. You're not obligated to move forward, if an entity is acting in bad faith. Community is a resource. Post about it. Ask colleagues about it. And please know that I'm always a resource.
