Thank you! We've done that on every submission, for 18 years!
I really appreciate that @bcsmagazine.bsky.social always gives a little bit of feedback on all their rejections. You all rock!
You can now read my story “Every Force Evolves a Form” online in @bcsmagazine.bsky.social
Thanks again to Scott Andrews for giving a home to this story of twisted love and dark redemption.
And I can say the same about @scott-h-andrews.bsky.social and @bcsmagazine.bsky.social, which also has a very professional contract.
Moreover, a publisher who only removes unfair clauses from contracts when they get pushback from more experienced writers or artists isn’t to be trusted.
A publishing contract is just that—a negotiated deal between parties that should honor the rights of *both* authors and publishers. But a contract that’s unfair to authors ultimately hurts publishers too. A publisher who tries to grab too many rights ultimately ends up with none, and rightly so.

I can't recommend BCS highly enough. Issue after issue of great fantasy. I subscribe through Weightless Books which sends each number right to my e-reader. weightlessbooks.com/beneath-ceas...
Now more than ever we need to support the magazines that matter to us. I've long been a subscriber to @bcsmagazine.bsky.social and I can't think of a better investment. Please join me.
Less than 1% of BCS readers support us financially. Over 99% do not.

And finally, a story that is not sapphic (one of my few!) but is nevertheless a story of unexpected love between two people who were never supposed to meet. "Dreams in Burnished Silver" is my latest in @bcsmagazine.bsky.social (July 2026) and possibly my favorite story published this year.

It looks like my story “Every Force Evolves a Form” will be available for online reading in a mere two days.
My 10,000-word novelette 'Aspect of the Moth' just got into Beneath Ceaseless Skies. It's the 15th Churchlands/Five Deserts story and the 6th to feature Tyrra the Painted, dye-worker turned wandering sorcerer. Also the first (published) to explicitly join that setting to my Broken Season stories.
