“I don’t know how to answer
Your questions about God
Or the meaning of it all”
Duly noted 😀
A quick Yertle the Turtle doodle. What do you think? Should I sketch Horton? A Sneetch? Thing 1 and Thing 2?
Thanks to this morning’s little tongue twister that I wrote, I'm now listening to Seussical the Musical.
“Bobble” is a very fun word to say. It's like a bit of candy you can roll around in your mouth. Here's my response to @thetoypress.bsky.social word of the week.
Another week closer to Halloween, which means there's another spooky poem and writing promo up on my page. Check it out!

Glad you enjoyed it!
While I understand why some lit magazines charge a reading fee, and I'm not faulting them for it…as a person who spends a lot of time writing poetry, the fact that I can't pay said fees is almost axiomatic.
I've just published my debut poetry collection for adults and I am giving it away for free online. Here's a poem from the book, below. I hawked it to some fancy magazines, but no luck. Very proud to self-publish it. Download the entire book here: archive.org/download/the... #BookSky #PoetryCommunity
Thanks as always to @thetoypress.bsky.social for a new #wordoftheweek. Here’s my poem based on the prompt.
Thrilled to have a poem about the Ticket to Scaryness on the Poetry Express. Check out some of the other newly featured poems at the link below.
We sat down and watched the AEW tribute to Pac this morning. Pac was the best pro wrestling had to offer, and AEW gave him a tribute worthy of that legacy.
Hopefully your local can order it! It’s not on Bookshop at the moment, though I think they could stock it if they chose to.
Spooky season is here, so it’s the perfect time for some spooky poems! In this week’s blog post, we chat about old creature feature movies and how they might inspire your poems.
A few recent library reads: Woodsong by Gary Paulsen Have You Seen Marie? by Sandra Cisneros Concrete Botany: The Ecology of Plants in the Age of Human Disturbance by Joey Santore The Seeds by Cecily Parks
There were dead birds washed up near the lighthouse I visited today. They looked vulnerable and poignant, no different in their way from a shipwreck victim from a century ago. The bodies fragile and too harshly treated by the light, but also beautiful and somehow remembered by wave and wind and rock
The newest issue of Epistemic Literary ( @epistemiclit.bsky.social ) is available now! It includes my poem “Highline” among a lot of other wonderful pieces, which you can read at the link below:
To be honest, I'm giving myself a couple days before I watch the Pac tribute on AEW Dynamite. I've seen a few clips this evening, and it looks like it's been a beautiful and powerful show.
I have books published with Bloomsbury, but the book I am most proud of is my self-published pamphlet for adults. I noticed a typo involving a SINGLE LETTER, & this morning I spent two hours trying to re-upload the document. It's FREE, and I'd love you to check it out: archive.org/details/the-...
