It’s beyond shocking that Mr Jenrick should be saying such things. Is it really the job of highly trained Marines to shoot innocent and unarmed adults and children in the sea? No, it’s illegal. The good people of Newark should give this man - this Herod- his marching orders.

A splendid day of AGM and talks at @churchmonuments.bsky.social at Carshalton All Saints. On the macro scale, impressive gold work (Comper) and on the micro, a most exquisite enamelled late 15C brass of Margaret Gaynesford. What an outfit!

Church interior facing east to the high altar showing large gilded Christ above the chancel arch and a large Victorian gothic roof screen and reredos, both gilded.Inside of a church looking west to a large organ with many pipes situated on a high gallery supported by pillars, all painted blue and gold.A medieval lady with a red dress and gold butterfly headdress kneeling at a reading desk. Made of brass or copper and coloured with enamel.

A mosquito that size bit me yesterday, in the Gironde salt marshes. ☹️ perhaps that man had a similar experience.

I’ve seen it several times & it’s always impressive, such bright colours. I sewed a facsimile panel which was really interesting - mostly fast couching stitch work Another impressive thing about Bayeux is the ‘liberty tree’ planted 1799 between the cathedral apse & mairie. Huge plane tree

250 million birds flew across America last night, tracked by radar. Migration season is upon us, and it’s wilder than you could imagine.

Birdcast’s live migration maps and forecasts (from Cornell Lab of Ornithology) are brilliant, and you can find them here. birdcast.org/migration-to...
