There is no moderate position on a human rights issue!
Are we sure this pragmatic sensible Gavin guy is trustworthy to do the right thing for the vulnerable and the weak..
look mom i'm in the newspaper
Cool so you're telling trans people to shut up and promising to vote for people who mean to harm us. Good luck winning elections.
Okay but what if that candidate is promising to abolish some rights for women?
This doesn't really change the pertinent issue that asking trans people to vote for the candidates throwing them under the bus is folly. There's going to be vanishingly few trans voters who wouldn't vote for a pro-trans dem in that district.

Incumbent democrat in Ohio's 9th district. I could find more but you only asked for one.
It's the same whether you like it or not. Pretending that what a candidate says on campaign doesn't reflect how they will govern is a folly. Say whatever you want to trans people but at the end of the day our votes are necessary and the anger around us saying we won't vote for transphobes proves it.
This is the same argument MAGA makes of 'ignore what Trump says on campaign it's all bluster' and then he governs exactly as he campaigned. You can't tell trans people to vote for candidates who throw us under the bus especially when it's so clearly for nothing.
Either the votes of trans ppl and their allies are necessary in which case it's in the party's interest to not alienate them or trans ppl don't matter in which case why get mad that we're unhappy? It's up to the party to win votes the voters are not obligated to vote for anyone in a free democracy.
It's simple, by spoiling/blanking the ballot you are showing parties you've previously voted for that, while you still participate in the process, they have lost your vote. This signals the party that these unhappy voters can be won back. We don't have democracy if the voters don't have that option.
If they ditch us it will be.
If they're taking anti-trans positions they can't expect trans voters. If they need trans votes then hedging on trans rights is bad politics.
