Rendition of the actin cytoskeleton in cultured cells. AI assisted in post processing. The eyeballs are just there to improve the visual presentation.

Sted microscopy image of actin filaments in cos7 cells that has been AI manipulated with DeepDream resulting in the addition of eyeballs and faces

Happy #FluorescenceFriday.
Single immune cell migration is fascinating. But these cells can also behave like a coordinated collective, like 🐝 from a hive. I captured some embryonic myeloid cells (🔴) displaying swarming behaviour in a migrating ectoderm cell sheet (🔵), like neutrophils in our body!

And both thrown with Schlittler starting. I’ll never forget matsui’s 6 rbi game in the 09 World Series. It was magical.

Very happy to share my postdoc paper is out now in @natcellbio.nature.com titled "Tissue flow acts as a guidance cue for immune cell polarization and directional migration". If you love imaging and immune cells, this is for you! #microscopymonday
