How long does it takes to 'review' a film?
Just give us the raw data already.
We talk so much about data sharing and open access...
Since this year #NobelPrize is for #optogenetics, here is one of my favorite systems, the optoRas. Originally designed for neutrophils, I adapted this to my embryonic myeloid cells! I use it to induce a new protrusion and drives this EM cell to go backward. #MicroscopyMonday
#MicroscopyMonday 2n = 36.
DRN member Sarah Hool won first prize in the Jarema Malicki imaging competition at the School of Biosciences Annual Research Symposium for this fabulous image of the cochlea!

Happy #MicroscopyMonday!
Check out this free-swimming cercaria larva of a local parasitic flatworm Lepocreadium setiferoides, which infects mud snails.
Imaged and sampled by Ana Corum and Yuxuan Xu in the Rawlinson Lab.
This #MicroscopyMonday shows the early formation of a small colony of corals from the Hawaiian Montipora capitata coral. Coral polyps have autofluorescence by the expression of the Green Fluorescent Protein. 🪸 (Gibson Lab)
🔬A slightly late #MicroscopyMonday, but we have a good excuse: we’re at BioImaging North America in Madison this week! #BINA2026
If you’re here, come find the NESM crowd and say hi! (Harry not pictured due to being incredibly delayed by the nor'easter ... 🌧️)
This week's #MicroscopyMonday is a side view of #zebrafish sensory organs, called neuromasts. These organs detect water flow based on the deflection of the protruding hair bundles (stereocilia). @daniomuench.bsky.social (Piotrowski

Is it really that easy to get light sheet data from a 12 well plate? For #MicroscopyMonday, we thought we’d let #DALISPIM co-creator Nick Evans walk you through how our open-top light sheet microscope works, from plating samples to acquiring high-res 3D data. Learn more: bit.ly/49pqjKd
Happy #MicroscopyMonday.
I found this very pretty COS-7 cell expressing LifeAct-mCherry from my old data. Look at how dense its actin network is. Also, many of the moving dots are endosomal to seemingly push them through the cytoplasm, similar to actin comet tail, but just a lot shorter.
Happy #MicroscopyMonday!
This is a holomatography image of a larval tubeworm imaged on a Tomocube Mini.
Imaged by students Le Pham and Sophia Aredas during the 2026 Molecular and Cell Biology of Symbiosis course.

No, this isn’t a banana!
For today's #MicroscopyMonday, we have a confocal image of a parasitoid wasp egg, filled with a symbiotic bacterium.
Imaged by student Loretha Jack during the 2026 Molecular and Cell Biology of Symbiosis course.
This beautiful #MicroscopyMonday shows how maternal regulation governs early embryonic development by coordinating gene expression in both time and space to direct proper embryonic growth. 🔬 (@bazzinilab.bsky.social Lab) #SciSky
Happy #MicroscopyMonday everyone!
This award-winning image is from Sarah and features the apical turn of a neonatal mouse cochlea. 🐭👂 AAV-GFP is shown in the green channel 💚 while phalloidin dye shows the actin-based structures of the cochlea in magenta 💜
