Today's Mathober:

Codepen: codepen.io/editor/fract...

Desmos: www.desmos.com/3d/abn78pkjiv

a nearly dark scene shows a black trumpet mushroom by a stream under the new moon with a banana slug coming down a tree and words at the bottom that say: a black trumpet under the new moon forms a simple pole.

Mathober Day 10 - Simple Pole

Starting with a Mondrian-inspired pattern of coloured rectangles, this sketch illustrates a simple pole using the function f(z) = frameCount/z, distorting the original image over time.

Today's #mathober prompt is Simple Pole, and I've done a little maths zine explaining what one is. (PDF to follow when I get near a scanner).

Today's #mathober - k-cyclic graph. I did polygons (1-cycles for my code and desmos) and a few with mycena fungi in the doodle.

code: codepen.io/editor/fract...

Desmos: www.desmos.com/calculator/3...

a banana slug moves to 4 sets of 4 long thin yellow mushrooms with each having a different configuration of spiderweb connecting their caps. the moon is almost new and mostly everything is in darkness, with text that reads: yellow mycena manifests k-cyclic graphs.

Today's #mathober: parabolic rotation fungi

and some code: codepen.io/editor/fract...

and Desmos: www.desmos.com/calculator/o...

#chanterelles, #mathart #bananaslug #pnw

Five woolly chanterelles grow together in a bunch with various sizes and rotations and parabolic rims under a three percent almost new moon. They grow on a shadowed log with a banana slug moving toward then from some leaf litter. The words say "parabolic rotation in woolly chanterelles.

Today's #Mathober Five Circle Theorem. Doodle, code, Desmos

Desmos: www.desmos.com/geometry/fxp...

p5: codepen.io/editor/fract...

five mushrooms grow above like looking up through a forest so that their caps centers are on the same circle and the intersections form lines that are a spiderweb with no spider. a banana slug climbs the one in the upper corner and it is all under low light with an almost new moon. the text says five circles cast a stellar web under a near new moon in a font drawn from slugs.
