Win Without War's statement in response to the announcement that the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan will be livestreamed by the U.S. government:

A blue, red, and black logo says "Win Without War." Below it is the following statement:

"A Public Military Execution Is Reprehensible. Impeach Hegseth.

WASHINGTON – In response to Secretary of Defense Hegseth’s announcement that the U.S. government will livestream the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, Win Without War Deputy Director Shayna Lewis released the following statement:
We utterly condemn Secretary of Defense Hegseth’s decision to broadcast the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan by firing squad. This is merely the latest outrageous action by the Secretary, and it is past time Congress held him accountable for his crimes and moral failures.
Hegseth must be impeached and lawmakers should soundly reject any Pentagon funding that could further embolden his catastrophic leadership.
Public executions were once a shameful staple of American life, particularly under Jim Crow. The last state-sanctioned public execution was in the 1930s. Looking back to that era, we are rightly shocked and appalled by the prospect of widely attended public lynchings that were once all too commonplace. Hegseth wants to numb us to that shock, doing his part to deliver on Donald Trump’s promise of a country where racialized and Islamophobic state violence is celebrated. It doesn’t diminish the gravity of Hasan’s crime to recognize and condemn Hegseth’s dangerous decision for what this decision is: sadism as government policy.
With Hegseth, enough is already far too much. The House of Representatives must adopt Rep. Massie’s articles of impeachment against Hegseth when it returns in November, and the Senate must promptly follow with a vote to convict and remove him from office. As and until they take those crucial steps, members of Congress — including those negotiating the National Defense Authorization Act and defense appropriations bills — should refuse to give the Pentagon one more dime.”

Win Without War's statement on the one year anniversary of the 10/10 ceasefire in Gaza:

“One year following the ceasefire in Gaza brokered by President Trump, the genocide continues. Since President Trump’s Gaza deal was signed, the Israeli military has killed over 1,300 Palestinians, including 300 children. The Israeli government is killing countless more by maintaining restrictions on aid and medicine in Gaza and preventing the reconstruction of the hospitals it bombed. Since October 2025, Prime Minister Netanyahu has gradually expanded Israel’s 'yellow line' de-facto annexation to include almost two-thirds of Gaza’s territory. Meanwhile, he and other senior Israeli officials publicly endorse the ethnic cleansing of Gaza, including openly discussing plans to force Palestinians in Gaza to emigrate en masse.
This heartbreaking violence is Trump’s peace plan in action. The ceasefire agreement failed to include any real accountability mechanisms that might restrain the Israeli government’s aggression in Gaza. Moreover, his administration refuses to hold Netanyahu’s government to its word on ending bombings, withdrawing troops, or expanding humanitarian access. Indeed, with the recently announced sale of 40,000 U.S-made bombs to the Israeli military, Trump has only emboldened PM Netanyahu.
The ongoing genocide, now entering its fourth year, is the predictable and intended outcome of Trump’s approach. Horrifically, it is just one aspect of his administration’s continuing assault on the safety of people across the Middle East and around the world. From establishing a corrupt and neocolonial Board of Peace structured to deny Palestinian self-determination in Gaza to obstructing accountability for murders of U.S. citizens by Israeli troops and settlers in the West Bank to joining PM Netanyahu in his long-sought war on Iran, Trump’s violence and impunity has produced catastrophic outcomes.
Today, as always, we reaffirm our demand for a lasting peace in Gaza and beyond, and for justice and accountability for those who have been harmed.”

US policy in the Middle East should center de-nuclearization, not backdoors to proliferation.

Senator Merkley is right -- this corrupt deal and its likely regional consequences should be a scandal, as our policy director @samratner.bsky.social lays out: internationalpolicy.org/publications...

I wrote on Trump's delusional Saudi nuclear deal, the unfolding nuclear proliferation nightmare that everyone predicted, and how progressives can meet a moment that everyone else seems intent on ducking.

Trump’s proposed Saudi nuclear deal is both a nuclear proliferation risk and a self-enrichment scheme for the Trump family. Congress should reject it, argues @samratner.bsky.social of @winwithoutwar.bsky.social

We thank Senators @welch.senate.gov and @vanhollen.senate.gov for providing opening remarks for this urgent discussion. Thank you to our panelists Stacy Gilbert, @akbarshahidahmed.bsky.social, @revjimwallis.bsky.social, and moderator Josh Paul for sharing your expertise.

Former State official Stacy Gilbert: It’s unforgivable that officials who gaslit the American people have been permitted to move on to jobs at elite institutions. That’s why it’s more important than ever to hold them accountable and prevent them from continuing to shape US foreign policy.

@winwithoutwar.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 5:47 PM

Former State Department official Stacy Gilbert: The Biden admin’s policy “seemed to be that we would gaslight the world and tell egregious lies in order to skirt the law” to continue arming Israel — a hypocrisy that compelled Gilbert to resign from a 20-year career in government.

@winwithoutwar.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 5:46 PM

@akbarshahidahmed.bsky.social: After their support helped Israel kill over 67,000 Palestinians to be killed and cost Dems the 2024 election, former officials like Jake Sullivan, Brent McGurk, and Avril Haines have been allowed to take up cushy positions at universities, think tanks, and VC firms.

@winwithoutwar.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 5:45 PM

@akbarshahidahmed.bsky.social: Biden officials feared that speaking out or trying to hold Israel accountable would damage their career prospects.

@akbarshahidahmed.bsky.social, journalist and author of "Crossing the Red Line: Biden, His Advisors, and Israel's War in Gaza," highlights how Biden officials like Jake Sullivan and Brent McGurk refused to accept the well-documented starvation of Palestinians in Gaza.

Trump's horrific threats against people in Iran continue. Trump's war on Iran is already a disaster -- illegal, immoral, and destructive. Congress shouldn't give him another dime to continue it, and must rein him in before he makes good on his threats to turn it into a genocide.

@winwithoutwar.bsky.socialSep 18, 2026, 6:12 PM

Americans are paying twice for Trump’s war: once to fund the bombs devastating civilians abroad, and again through the higher prices at home the war is responsible for. This bill would make the Pentagon absorb those economic costs instead of families.

Thank you @rokhanna.bsky.social for leading the Illegal War Refund Act. Trump is not only inflicting suffering in the region with his war, he’s also fleecing communities in the U.S. to pay for it.

Saying that the mayor of NYC should be barred from memorializing the deadliest attack in his city's history -- which effected every New Yorker, regardless of their faith -- because he is Muslim is pure Islamophobia. We condemn Mr. Giuliani's comments, and all who try to use tragedy to peddle hate.

Trump’s “pivot” to the Western Hemisphere was never about security or human rights. It’s a resource grab, ultimately meant to line the pockets of Trump and his cronies while doing long-term damage to our neighbors.

@winwithoutwar.bsky.socialSep 1, 2026, 2:00 PM

It IS a move to bring an increasingly politicized Pentagon further and further into resource extraction, the inevitable result of a return to “gunboat diplomacy.” www.nytimes.com/2026/08/31/u...
