A few folks have asked how I make molecular animations from ChemDraw. Sadly, the answer has been β€œthe old-fashioned way,” frame by frame. This was too slow.

So I worked with Claude Science to create a webpage that animates your ChemDraws. Give it a try:

🧡 Short thread: I give a seminar to 1st-year biomed PhD students in my program about how to critically read a paper, how to extract VAST amounts of information from the title, and why reading AI summaries instead of struggling with papers is *particularly* bad for trainees. πŸ§ͺ

A comparative analysis of two paper titles, focusing what exactly we can expect to see in each paper. The verb choice alone shows that one is primarily a techniques paper.

Good old Coomassie Brilliant Blue G250 can be used as a fluorescent gel stain. And done right, it performs as well as Sypro Ruby, if you have access to an infrared scanner like the LiCor Odyssey.
