@mercuryreads.bsky.socialReposted by @thetolkienist.comMy review of the recent edited volume on Geoffrey Bache Smith and Tolkien is now live on Mythlore! I was glad to be able to review this one, as my thesis work is deeply embedded in this exact subject. I felt it my responsibility to make clear what is and isn't reliable.

@thetolkienist.comA huge shoutout to all the Trekkies in here - and if you happen to have access to early (TOS) fandom and this particular letter writing campaign (MAKE SPOCK ZE ARAGORN!!!) 😇 your help is greatly appreciated.
@ashiggins.bsky.socialReposted by @thetolkienist.comEglerio! and Congrats to the @digitaltolkien.com team for this excellent and very helpful chronology of the narrative frame in #Tolkien’s Book of Lost Tales which was the subject of my Phd thesis and I am currently re-reading for an upcoming new paper.

@thetolkienist.comI think there are quite a few block lists out and about who do not really discern what or who they are blocking - and then you just happen to be one of the "victims." 😅
@thetolkienist.comOh man, this is glorious! 😇

Initially generated from Tolkien's maps but I've made various manual corrections. Let me know if you notice anything off.
Scale is one tile/mile.
@thetolkienist.comVery good question, that 😄
