Looks like we might hit an important milestone just in time for the one year anniversary of HoMe Base in a couple of weeks.

Albeit from a different angle, my thesis was also on The Book of Lost Tales, so this resource looks stellar! Useful for teaching as well...

When asked what image would be appropriate for my Digital Tolkien class starting next week, there could be only one choice: Gandalf on a MacBook :-)

Also we don't have definitive texts for any of the works Tolkien worked on professionally. Even Beowulf with only one manuscript has disputed readings.

I guess the editors at HarperCollins working with Hammond, Scull, Anderson, etc. Note that those three were responsible for fixing up the texts even when Christopher was around. Of course, I'd be happy to advise in the future.

We're reworking the base text for _The Hobbit_ and have only one final issue to resolve: how to index the footnote "Son of Azog. See p.NNN" because the NNN varies by setting.

That blue Houghton Mifflin copy is my favorite.
