This is a public service announcement for junior non-U.S. (based) political scientists. You will see several jobs advertised at U.S. universities that are in (relatively) new Centers for “Civil Leadership” or “Western Thought” etc. These are GOP-created Centers with a clear political motivation!

To what extent Labour still count as Social Democrats is certainly debatable, but I agree with the main point. The complicity of mainstream media in the success of the far right in almost all liberal democracies by, among other things, underreporting their losses.

It seems like EU asylum policymaking has turned into a fully-fledged delusional circle. This madness must stop. It creates more problems than it solves, especially by eroding liberal democratic standards. We can and should be proud defenders of human rights.

Es droht die Wahl eines rechtsextremen Ministerpräsidenten. Im DLF Interview geht es stattdessen um Enteignungen, Neukölln und Wahlpartys. Der ÖRR versagt seit Jahren in seiner Verantwortung für die Demokratie. Kritik perlt ab. Kein Diskurs, keine Reflexion. Einfach weiter so. Bis zur Abschaffung.

NO! Y’all really got to stop doing this! A far-rightist doesn’t stop being far right just because you realized there is someone further right. Also, they are often not so much “further” right, they are differently far right! BOTH Rees-Mogg AND Tucker are threats to liberal democracy!

Deutschland braucht eine starke konservative ("mitte rechts") Partei, die sich klar von radikal und extrem rechts abgrenzt und diesen Bereich programmatisch bekämpft und nicht kopiert. Ich wünsche mir, dass nun in Union (und SPD!) ankommt, dass die bisherige Strategie gescheitert ist.

You may be relieved but spare a thought for so many editors in the mainstream media who were hoping to run hyping headlines about the far right winning in Sweden As always when SD is hyped and ends up crashing, I expect Swedish politics will drop off the radar as it's no longer sexy enough
