Every family should have access to child care, yet child care is treated as a private responsibility.

As the Trump admin slashes our existing child care system, Alyssa Fortner's new piece explains why now is the time to advocate for universal child care: https://ow.ly/FULf50ZVt8j

From groceries to the gas pump, we are all feeling the affordability crisis.

On MomsRising Radio, Wendy Chun-Hoon discusses how bad public policy decisions created this crisis — and better ways to support our families. Listen to the full episode here: https://ow.ly/LpzT50ZU1xE

The Census Bureau's latest poverty numbers don't reflect the massive cuts to the safety net from the OBBB.

The 2026 numbers will be far bleaker, writes Wendy Chun Hoon @clasp.org writes for @washingtonmonthly.bsky.social.

2025 Census data tell us the worst is yet to come. The Trump admin's policies gutted our safety net, devastated immigrant communities & pushed 7.7M people into poverty thru soaring health costs. Full take by CLASP’s Wendy Chun-Hoon via Washington Monthly: https://ow.ly/nWZW50ZT5s3

How is the early childhood community likely to be affected by DHS’s new “public charge” rule? In our latest fact sheet, we answer common questions, provide additional resources, and prepare workers, families & educators for what to expect:

All workers in the US should be able to build futures.

Yet the Trump admin spent BILLIONS targeting immigrants & limiting their jobs. CLASP & the International Rescue Committee analyze new data & find that workers sacrifice job quality for low barriers to entry in app-based jobs: ow.ly/quki50ZQBgl

Black women face unique risks when reporting workplace health/safety issues. CLASP's Lulit Shewan says women who come forward often must defend their complaint—along with their credibility, temperament, and right to stay employed. Read more: https://ow.ly/sk2O50ZQcNP

Through harmful regs, illegal funding freezes, and unfounded fraud allegations, the Trump Administration has harmed an early education sector that was already struggling. @clasp.org's new blog outlines how the admin continues to undermine #CCEE this year: www.clasp.org/blog/how-the...

While 2025 Census data may look stable, clouds are on the horizon. Median income did NOT rise enough to cover inflation--worsening affordability.

We applaud @pressley.house.gov for introducing the Federal Jobs Guarantee resolution with its proactive policies to address systemic & discriminatory barriers limiting many workers’ access to quality jobs and careers as well as robust worker protections for all.

The 2025 Census poverty data may look stable, but it's not a success story.
❌ Income isn’t keeping up w/ inflation
❌ 4.5M lost SNAP (1.5M kids)
❌ 8M pushed into poverty by health care costs

We don't have to accept policies that don't support us. More: https://ow.ly/zrR150ZOvZm

While Census poverty data appear stable, the lowest-income Americans are bearing the brunt of inflation—and will face even greater hardship as deeper safety net cuts take effect.
