There is so much at stake in this election. The latest announcement of Ken Sim and ABC would delay and politicize decisions for sidewalks, bike and bus lanes, inevitably impacting road safety. This is not what our City needs. There is Advance voting tomorrow(Sat.) and on Tuesday. So get out to vote!

This morning we joined HUB staff, volunteers, and families on a bike bus ride to Florence Nightingale Elementary School. The Ride-Along was part of HUB Cycling’s Streets for Tomorrow, Today campaign, to make it safer and easier for kids & youth to walk, bike and roll in their communities.

Vancouver friends! Second day of advance voting is today.

In my newsletter today, I explain why Vancouver’s historic climate leadership hangs in the balance in this municipal election. And, for those curious, I share how I'm casting my ballot:

Last year I tried to make Vancouver’s streets car-free for Halloween, but ABC blocked it due to their "zero means zero" budget freeze. If I’m reelected, I’ll bring this back. Kids deserve a safe, fun Halloween!

Commute got you down? We can fix that. OneCity Candidate Iona Bonamis 陶思穎 outlines Project Greenlight, which could save you weeks of your life in traffic.

If you want City Hall to help you get you where you're going faster, volunteer, donate, and VOTE OneCity.

* Create a Vibrant West End Waterfront – OneCity will establish a practical path to deliver a comprehensive West End waterfront plan so we don’t have to choose between better parks and safe, sustainable transportation downtown.

@lucymaloney.bsky.socialOct 3, 2026, 1:26 AM

* Charge and Ride Safe – We'll expand access to secure charging facilities for active transport, and eliminate the sale and rental of uncertified or modified e-bike batteries that cause preventable fires and injuries.

@lucymaloney.bsky.socialOct 3, 2026, 1:26 AM

* Vision Zero Rapid Response Fund – OneCity will dedicate funding to proactively identify and immediately address street safety issues according to historical data and evidence.

@lucymaloney.bsky.socialOct 3, 2026, 1:26 AM

* Safe Speeds Plan – We'll reduce speed limits on busy shopping streets, school and park frontages, and high-injury corridors so that cars can stop before they hurt someone.

@lucymaloney.bsky.socialOct 3, 2026, 1:26 AM

* Prioritize Mobility for All – OneCity will direct initial investments to the areas furthest behind, and publish mobility data by neighbourhood so Vancouverites can see exactly where investment is going and where it isn't.
