For most #beef cuts sampled, levels of nutrients were consistent with the 1992 survey.
However, levels of iodine, vitamin D and some B vitamins including vitamin B1 (thiamin), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B6 and vitamin B9 (folate) were lower across all cuts in 2024 compared to 1992.
Only 4% of adults in the UK meet the daily recommended dietary fibre target of 30g.
At the Quadram Institute, we are studying how fibre impacts our health and microbiome to help inform ways to increase the quantity and quality of fibre in our diets ⤵️
New MRC funding will see the next generation of medical researchers trained in Norwich 🔬 The funding will support a new MRC Doctoral Landscape Award at UEA in partnership with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Quadram Institute, John Innes Centre and Earlham Institute.
