Thank you! Such a fun way to have people connect with science and research!
A wonderful audience for Science on Tap talking about the art & science of sleep, dreams, memory and insomnia!
Full house and fantastic questions!
Thank you to the amazing folks at
Science on Tap and the delightful Master of Ceremonies

They are very specific. My best guess is that they might be a real person but use AI to respond. Thus all the big words and lengthy posts? Maybe, that’s what is odd, is that they don’t sound quite authentic.
It’s slightly different than giving my artwork a compliment. That make me feel delighted. They give me credentials I don’t have. Like calling me an Oneirologist. I have looked into the science about dreaming, but that’s not my job. IG is a funny place. I prefer spaces without short form video.
On Instagram? One of them seems to be a science enthusiast from India. They have been doing this for over a year and never asked anything of me. They used the word ‘Pulchritudinous’
I'm not sure how this is even possible, but we still have tickets left for Wednesday's Science on Tap featuring @kindracrick.com and her new artworks exploring the neuroscience of sleep and dreams. Come spend 90 minutes in learning wonder. www.scienceontaporwa.org/events/kiggi...
Unexpected and delightful!
@moduality.bsky.social came by on Saturday with a 1979 Scientific American magazine! 🧠 The whole magazine focused on the brain with an article written by my grandad. - Thank you! 🙏
Was wonderful to meet @arthursmid.bsky.social at the opening. 😊
Thank you to my awesome brother Alex Crick for the photo of me.
Good morning from Portland
All hail the Queen Bolete! 👑🍄🟫
Happy #FungiFriday 🌿
Saving this for a later read.
Interesting. 🧪
I could argue that Ed Boyden should also be included. Work that requires collaboration and many paths to discovery should have more generous acknowledgement. But, I guess that would leave less debate for the science historians.
Very frustrating as which is more important- proof of concept or a better opsin? I can imagine even better, non invasive, techniques in the future with different wavelengths or delivery of light.
My first response to the win yesterday was that folks were left out. I’ve been waiting on this one for a while! As we both know, limiting prizes to three people is so problematic given the nature of scientific discovery.
