saw the moby dick quote within seconds of scrolling past @brookie.blog's post
release has been released!
read about it here:
discourse.atmosphere.community/t/atproto-sp...
including a migration prompt so hopefully your agents can one-shot the update!
that's a hell yea from me
I'm interested in something UCAN-like in the future, but they provide waaayy more machinery (arbitrary delegation/attenuation) than what we need right now (binding invocation to an aud) with token chaining, i think we'd be specifying as much or more to describe how exactly they're composed
well you need a format & mechanism for doing that then i'd argue this is basically a very narrowly-scoped version of that
then the space authority has to issue a space credential for every audience. this let's it issue just one and the syncer can use that same credential to sync every repository
the flipside of not preventing replay is that it allows for header compression over HTTP/2
yeah that's definitely true. but replay attacks really aren't the goal for this particular mechanism. it really is just about binding a space credential invocation to a particular audience. otherwise it becomes a shared secret (& let's the audience re-use it against other service)
sorry i don't follow. your review of the PR I linked?
ah no i hadn't, interesting though! directionally quite similar

i'm doing a followup FediForum presentation a week from today, this time introducing atproto spaces! come hang and learn about the new protocol with the fediverse crew
Atproto Spaces is the most eagerly awaited new addition to AT Protocol in recent memory. But how does it work and what cool new Open Social Web functionality does it enable? We are very happy to announce that next week at FediForum, @dholms.at, head of protocol at Bluesky, will tell us all […]
I'm excited to announce that the PLC Organization now has a statute! And a bank account! And a @standard.site publication! All the important stuff.
The PLC Org is an independent Swiss Association meant to operate the PLC directory, which collects and distributes signed updates to atproto accounts.
Hello World from the PLC organization (plcred.org)!
The org was soft-announced back in March at AtmosphereConf. We've been working through logistics step by step and now have a public web presence we can point to.
