Heads up. Use of LLMs at HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Hachette Given the number of authors due payment because of Anthropic stealing their work to train AI, the least Big 5 publishers could do would be to refrain from using AI and creating conditions where agents feel it's necessary to do this:

Text: All of the agents I spoke with expressed fears that publishers might paste text from their authors’ manuscripts into the LLMs in order to generate things like rejection letters and publicity descriptions. “We’ve added AI clauses to our contracts saying ‘this material can’t be run through an LLM,’” says one agent, who did not want to be named to avoid professional repercussions.
