I'm so so honored to be nominated for a WGA award for my episode of Poker Face! Thank you to everyone involved in the show and the entire writers guild. This is so cool! The WGA Awards are like the Oscars of the film industry!!

THIS WEEK ON POKER FACE! An episode that’s very close to my heart, and to say why would kinda be a spoiler. The Sleazy Georgian. Written by the brilliant @meganamram.bsky.social and directed by Mimi freakin Cave, with Melanie Lynskey, John Cho and the whole cast crushing it. On Peacock now!
Crazy same
New piece by Megan Amram in the New Yorker today! I'm me and her!
Honor of a lifetime -- I got to write an episode of POKER FACE this year! Thank you to @rianjohnson and Natasha Lyonne for letting me be a part of this incredible show and don't tell me whodunnit if you watch my episode, I haven't seen it yet
Also I am obsessed with horror movies but none of them scare me. The only director who could ever scare me was David Lynch. RIP to the greatest to ever do it.
One of my least favorite things about the Internet Age is how American physical spaces don't really exist anymore, they are flattened into the same simulacra of cities we can hazily remember from a different time. David Lynch's settings feel so REAL to me.
I am from the Pacific NW and live in LA and have spent a lot of time in suburban Las Vegas and those and every city in his art were drawn with such EMOTIONAL TRUTH.
I still don't know what to say about David Lynch. How can you possibly find that words to talk about an artist and thinker who is so singularly profound? But something I keep coming back to is how good he was at portraying PLACE.
