Both types of music: extreme computer and Edition of Contemporary.
You'll love my neo-rockist agenda.

@realm-of-dusk.bsky.socialOkay, but have you heard The Smiths?
@realm-of-dusk.bsky.socialAm I correct in thinking that there has never been a vinyl record featuring ‘Town & Country Hobgoblins’, the live version which was a bonus track on the original cassette release of ‘Bend Sinister’?

Dead Can Dance — self-titled
Very much enjoying scavenging the record stores of British Columbia’s Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island for remaining stock from this round of DCD reissues. This one is from Fascinating Rhythm in Nanaimo.

Tappa Zukie — ‘In Dub’
Prince Phillip on the controls at King Tubby’s.
@realm-of-dusk.bsky.socialVery jealous. I’m catching on very late and never got to see them live.

Dead Can Dance — ‘Aion’
Managed to damage this brand-new record in the process of putting it on, through sheer, epic clumsiness. Telling myself this will make it more like having an original.

@realm-of-dusk.bsky.socialWhich retro gaming handheld is this?
@realm-of-dusk.bsky.socialI like the way you propped up the record so it looks like it’s floating. May not be able to resist copying this.

@realm-of-dusk.bsky.socialIt sounds like what it is: a record built around fragments of MES's vocals. But I think a lot of the later Fall albums were made that way. Side one sounded pretty good. Certainly a lot better than the last few 'proper' Fall LPs.

The Fall — ‘Post Script’
Look what just showed up in the mail!

Heidi Berry — ‘Love’
I’ve probably posted this before but it’s always worth flagging up. Super underrated folky dreampop.

Ambitious Lovers — ‘Greed’
More evidence of my If Arto Lindsay Is On It, I Will Buy It policy. These Ambitious Lovers albums are underrated, though they do seem like rehearsals for the stellar solo albums Arto made in the 90s. Extraordinary all-star cast on this one.
@realm-of-dusk.bsky.socialYes! Big in Japan.

William Basinski — ‘The Disintegration Loops III’
Gotta say ‘DLP4’ is particularly affecting, maybe because he holds back on the reverb a bit.

@realm-of-dusk.bsky.socialIf they’re not playing doom metal, yeah.
@realm-of-dusk.bsky.socialClearly, you don’t live in Montreal.

Steve Reich — ‘Octet/Music for a Large Ensemble/Violin Phase’
Skipping ahead in my #ecmodyssey cos I’m listening to this for a thing related to the boxset. I have 2 of 3 records in the box. But would buying the box be cheaper than getting an OG ‘18 Musicians’?
