The class action, filed in New York in July, accuses Delo and BitMEX of “theft” and says wants to hold them “accountable for the fraudulent conduct”

BitMEX closed down in September, a few weeks after Delo announced he was giving Reform £36m.

The long-term economic and social impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic still influence some of the biggest issues facing the UK today. Our latest report examines these ongoing impacts and sets out lessons for how government prepares for, responds to, and promotes recovery from future emergencies. 🧵

8/ Perhaps this is the new etiquette. Describe the smoke. Condemn the flames. Identify who brought the petrol. Even point to the person holding the match. But don’t, whatever you say, mention the arson.

6/ Kemi Badenoch may offer the purest example.
Reform MPs debate whether her mixed-race children are English. Black England footballers enter the argument. Her phrase?
“Questioning people’s identity.” Which is certainly one way of putting it.

5/ Zack Polanski gives us “cruel anti-migrant laws”, “toxic online worlds”, intimidation, “horrifying hate and abuse”, and leaders pouring “fuel on the fire”.
A whole chemistry of racism appears. The element itself stays off the table.

4/ Rhun ap Iorwerth calls it the “poison of the far-right”.
Masked anti-migrant demonstrators become “Nigel Farage’s foot soldiers”. Farage has “fuelled” this politics and “normalised hate”. Then: “we see you for what you are”. And the sentence draws the curtains.

Ed Davey came much closer. A “far-right threat”. A “far-right movement”.
Politicians “like Nigel Farage” give it “oxygen, heat and fuel”. We approach the noun.
We do not land.

@nasarmeer.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 8:57 AM

2/ Burnham gave us “division” and the danger of a “divisive government”.
No Reform. No Farage. No far right. No racism.
A politics capable of producing division all by itself, presumably.

1/ Britain’s party leaders made good use of the thesaurus this season to avoid the word racism. I counted division, hatred, extremism, toxicity, fear, prejudice, grievance, questioning identity or the far right. Anything, apparently, except *that*!
