I am not going to share that disgusting cartoon that was in the Daily Telegraph. Suffice to say that it was disgusting and deeply offensive.

Here is Jewish and Muslim Greens' joint statement on the matter, and a call to the DT to withdraw it - jewishgreens.greenparty.org.uk/2026/10/11/j...

Policy Update: The Green Way to Health.

Policy Spotlight: The Green Way to Health
The Green way to health updated our already excellent healthcare policy to improve the lives of LGBTIQA+ people. Here’s what it says about conversion therapy:
‘Conversion therapy is one of the most dangerous forms of coercive behaviour forced upon trans people, especially trans youth, and leads to depression, detransition, and suicide. We call for a comprehensive ban on all conversion therapy for all members of the LGBTIQA+ community.’

For Sex workers it calls for:
‘Regular health checks should be available to all sex workers, free of charge (see Health: HS402), to protect both them and their clients.’On Gender affirming care it strengthens our policy to call for improved care:
`The Green Party calls for the support provided by the NHS to be expanded, to include a wider range of gender affirming treatments, and for ongoing fertility preservation, such as long-term gamete storage, for everyone who wants it.’

On HIV it calls for bold action to end new cases of HIV:
`The Green Party will work towards no more HIV transmissions. This requires a joined-up, evidence-based approach, including access to the HIV
prevention pill online, in pharmacies and from GP services, and opt-out HIV testing programmes in A&Es in all areas with a high prevalence of HIV.’

📺 I'm really glad to see so much positive press around our motion supporting trans and non-binary people's rights in Oxford. This was spotted by @apowelllaw.bsky.social's nan and mum all the way down in Dorset tonight! Much more work to be done, but we will get there. 🏳️‍⚧️ www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

This reel has since been deleted on Instagram and Facebook by the BBC, I wonder why? 🤔

"This content isn't available at the moment. When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it, or it's been deleted."

My comment to BBC Oxfordshire on Monday's motion about the EHRC Code of Practice and Trans Rights: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

'Oxford has the highest density of transgender and non-binary people outside of London, according to the census.

The proposals were put forward by Oxford Green Party councillor Dr Max Morris, who said they would help the trans community feel safe at a time when "moral panic" had led to "harassment and discrimination".

Morris said there had been "a lot of uncertainty and a lot of confusion" about what the updated EHRC guidance meant''Morris said they hoped by the city council showing leadership in supporting the trans community, other businesses, local authorities and community groups would follow suit.

"The real issue here is the uncertainty for an already marginalised minority group, but also for local businesses, charities, public service providers including Oxford City Council," they said.

"How on earth are we supposed to navigate this when the guidance is so unclear?"

Something else I drew to the attention of Oxford City Council was last week's protest outside the Churchill Hospital, opposing the NHS contract with Palantir, a tech firm linked to human rights abuses, war crimes, discriminatory policing practices, and mass surveillance: www.wsws.org/en/articles/...

🚨The government is looking for UK alternatives to Palantir to run the NHS data platform, the FT reports.

This follows a week of protests in 40+ places across England and a rally of hundreds at Palantir's London HQ.

Thank you. Yes, it passed with support from Labour and Lib Dem councillors, which is a good sign for the cross-party working group on this moving forward.

Political leadership has been tragically absent during this sustained campaign against trans rights that led to the new EHRC guidance. I'm proud that the motion proposed by Max at Oxford City Council passed, and there is much more to do.

Green councillor Max Morris proposed the motion and described "unacceptable levels of abuse on social media" for representatives who had previously put forward a proposal... They said that experience is "something that many of us are all too familiar with" www.thisisoxfordshire.co.uk/news/2661155...

It was a pleasure to chair and organise. So many different stories from people, some I never would have believed. It just shows that we have to support each other and refuse to give up the space and the rage required to fix our broken health system.
