No human is illegal. Scotland must always remain a welcoming country for migrants and refugees. 💚🏴
Who gets to decide what is a Green AI datacentre, industry or communities?
This was a dangerous distractions from an inept group that harvests very real struggles around cost of living, housing, & healthcare into an environment of hate. And let it be clear: Muslim women have more courage in their hearts than every one of these fascists combined.
Reform’s racist debate on banning the burqa was shut down without extension — & my Green colleagues Kate Nevens @katenevens.bsky.social & Holly Bruce @hollybruce.bsky.social spoke, sternly and clearly, about the misogyny that fuels Reform’s political strategy. I’m so very proud of their work.
In a first yesterday, the Scottish Parliament had its voting bells ringing well after many MSPs had gone home for recess, during a Member’s Business Debate. MSPs & Ministers rushed to the chamber at 6.30pm, including the First Minister, & declared that we don’t condone racism in these chambers.
Thank you to everyone who came out to campaign in Holborn & St Pancras today!
The election is feeling incredibly close from the thousands of conversations today.
We need to keep it up for just a few more days. Every conversation matters.

200 Police Scotland officers sent to Portadown. For what? I’ve written to Justice Secretary Neil Gray because I am seriously concerned about the decision to send 200 Scottish police officers to Portadown to support the policing operation around the Orange Order march down the Garvaghy Road. 1/8
Here's today's column on the astonishing, ongoing mistreatment of people with #ME/CFS. Please spread it far and wide: the only thing which can break the media's wall of indifference is seeing an article about the issue go viral. Thank you. 1/2

We can't keep repeating the same failed approach. We need a major expansion of harm reduction and treatment services, including safe consumption facilities. We must ensure that people can access support quickly, safely, and without stigma, fear or criminalisation.
I spoke in Parliament yesterday about preventing violence against women. We need to stop blaming migrants or trans people for the problem. They are not. That kind of rhetoric only distracts us from the real causes of violence against women. 1/2
🚨BREAKING: The Scottish Greens will force a vote in Parliament this week on halting hyperscale data centres!
Join our team! We're looking for a Senior Casework Coordinator to support the Green MSPs representing the Edinburgh and Lothians East Region 🧵 👇️
Green MSPs joined hundreds of people in Edinburgh to call for an immediate moratorium on Scotland’s datacentre boom, which includes one project in The Lammermuirs, East Lothian. Join us in the campaign to halt this!

Green MSP @qmanivannan.bsky.social outlines his concerns about AI data centres during a protest outside The Scottish Parliament
I was also delighted to attend today’s protest outside Parliament and meet many local campaigners from across Edinburgh and Lothians East - more on this to come.
Last week, I visited the site of the proposed hyperscale AI datacentre in South Gyle, alongside local residents. It’s clear that we need a moratorium on these developments.
Sign our petition calling on the First Minister to act: greens.scot/datacentres
I'm so incredibly disappointed that the Scottish Government have failed to commit to bringing Scottish legislation to ban conversion practices here. It feels extremely cowardly. But we won't give up: we'll find a way to make sure everyone is properly protected from these harmful practices
In todays Programme for Government the only mention of data centres is about attracting more of them into Scotland. Communities needed the First Minister to announce an immediate halt to hyperscale data centres applications today. The Scottish Greens will keep pushing for a pause!
