Jayapal's endorsement of Kelabe Tewolde comes just as the IEs start to spend on behalf of Sharon Tomiko Santos, with the Jackson Legacy Fund (which usually supports more centrist candidates) reporting a $82,000 spend yesterday.

I have long admired Congresswoman Jayapal because she stands up for her values in the face of big money interests and I’m so thankful for her endorsement. Thanks for believing in the next generation of leaders @jayapal.house.gov

Then she laughs off facts that go against her worldview

Just listened. JB loves to avoid facts everytime she’s on KUOW 🙄

At the South Park event, I saw a lot of feedback asking for investments in community spaces/events as well as depaving/traffic calming and public restrooms and better access for folks not in cars. I also got to chat with one of the project consultants who has a public health background.

In Redmond? Do this! I’m a former planning commissioner, and it’s a hugely underrated way to shape your community. It may seem boring to some, but the decisions you make impact everything. Safety, taxes, climate, business, transportation, affordability, EVERYTHING.

“a significant number of existing bus stops were on the table to be eliminated, … longer walks to access transit than they do today, and people with disabilities might lose access altogether.” So many people that rely on the 7 could loose access to a necessary local route

Most people never see or think about the engineers working tirelessly underneath the car decks to keep the ferries going. They work all day and into the night to get it in repair to keep with the sailing. In theory they work 7 days on/7 days off, but with fleetwide demands, its a lot more.

@governorferguson.bsky.social and OFM have been warned about how on edge the engineers and Eagle Harbor ferry maintenance workers are with their poor treatment in bargaining and salary setting. While they're not legally allowed to strike, they can make themselves heard.

Thank you to all the community members and elected leaders who came out to the Nondrivers Alliance/Transit Riders Union 7 bus ride-along yesterday. The big takeaway? We need more flexible and accessible space...

I was waiting at Walden and Rainier to catch #weekwithoutdriving Route 7 ride-along and had a classic Route 7 experience.

After pushing the stroller on the hilly side streets to the stop, because Rainier itself is so unpleasant, the driver said there was no room in the front for the stroller.

Heading to the Graham Block Party today, thinking about how we're almost at the 10th anniversary of the death of Ronacin Tjhung at MLK and Graham.

Are we any closer to creating an MLK that is safe to bike on? No, we are not.
