Welcome to #TrekBookClub (hosted by @petertrek1.bsky.social & created by @trekkierob.bsky.social). We have read & discussed #StarTrek books since 2017, formerly on X/Twitter, now on Bluesky. Trek Book Club podcast is a member of @bqnpodcasts.bsky.social.
@trekbookclub.bsky.social Pinned42. For our next TBC discussion, we will talk about “Star Trek TOS - Rihannsu Book #1: My Enemy, My Ally” by @diane.dianeduane.com over the weekend of September 19 & 20. Please join us if you can.

@trekbookclub.bsky.socialThe "SCE: Wildfire" omnibus is part of this month's S&S Trek e-book sale (at least in the US). #TrekBookClub will be discussing "Wildfire" next weekend. If you like to join the discussion but haven't started reading it yet, now would be a great time to pick up the book. There is still time!
@trekbookclub.bsky.socialJust a reminder that we will discuss “Star Trek SCE: Wildfire” by @davidmack.pro over the weekend of October 17 & 18. Please join us if you can.

@trekbookclub.bsky.socialNice pick. That was one of my favorite episodes from Discovery Season 5. Btw, the Eternal Archives scenes were filmed at the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, University of Toronto.
@trekbookclub.bsky.socialDrop some books. 📚
@trekbookclub.bsky.socialThank you for sharing the techniques you used to write "My Enemy, My Ally", completing it on short notice, & on writing in general. The insights you included below are very interesting & gives fans a peek into the writing process from an author perspective.

@trekbookclub.bsky.socialOh, that's interesting. I haven't heard of "Galacta" yet. Good bit of Trek folklore to know.
@trekbookclub.bsky.socialYes, I appreciated the scientific background/details incorporated in the story. I wish it was that easy to learn a new language!
@trekbookclub.bsky.socialOh, that is interesting (and a bit unsettling). When I was an undergrad, I was a research assistant in the Psychology department. We were just dealing with perceptions of colors, was a more mundane topic.
@trekbookclub.bsky.socialYou know, the chess transporter section reminded me of the holochess scenes we saw on the Millenium Falcon in "Star Wars". 😉
@trekbookclub.bsky.socialYes, they had the captain of the rest of the fleet towards the beginning so it was good that they returned in the end to help turn the tide vs. the Romulans.
@trekbookclub.bsky.socialJust a heads up that periodically, I will invite TBC Podcast Associate Producers to pick an upcoming book. This is similar to when Rob was hosting TBC on Twitter pre-2021 & TBC was on Patreon. We will still have polls & I may make a "Host" pick from time to time (e.g. Prometheus #3). Thanks!
@trekbookclub.bsky.social41. For December, we will be discussing the book “Make It So: Leadership Lessons from Star Trek: TNG". This is a TBC Podcast Assoc. Producer’s pick by @chadcanplan.bsky.social. This should be a good, slightly different type of discussion. Please join if you can!

@trekbookclub.bsky.socialWhile you can buy the 2 Wildfire novellas separately, both are available in the "Wildfire" omnibus which contains 5 SCE adventures (SCE #20 - #24) for one low price (cover of the omnibus posted above). You may want to get this version since it's a better value. Please join us if you can. Thx! (2/2)
@trekbookclub.bsky.social40. For our next TBC discussion, we will have our annual visit to the Starfleet Corps of Engineers part of the Trek literary universe by discussing “SCE: Wildfire, Bks 1 & 2” by @davidmack.pro over the weekend of Oct. 17 & 18.
