The "SCE: Wildfire" omnibus is part of this month's S&S Trek e-book sale (at least in the US). #TrekBookClub will be discussing "Wildfire" next weekend. If you like to join the discussion but haven't started reading it yet, now would be a great time to pick up the book. There is still time!

FYI, Simon & Schuster's Star Trek e-book sale for October is now up (at least in the US). There are lots of books on this month's list, with many Trek shows/series represented.

Thank you for sharing the techniques you used to write "My Enemy, My Ally", completing it on short notice, & on writing in general. The insights you included below are very interesting & gives fans a peek into the writing process from an author perspective.

Here were the references I found:
- Wrigley’s Pleasure Planet (“The Man Trap”)
- The events of “The Enterprise Incident”, the Romulan Commander from that episode was the niece of Ael t’Rllaillieu

I thought of this when Duane had Kirk describe the words on the Doctor Who time machine “Police Public Call Box” as “Anglish words.” I wondered if that’s what someone who spoke Galacta would think. But apparently Anglish is a non-Latin version of English. #TrekBookClub

File this under “miscellaneous,” but the Star Trek rpg from the 80’s gave everyone in Starfleet a proficiency in “Galacta,” which was the common language of the Federation. It was similar to English but not English. The rules say the TV show renders Galacta as ordinary English. 1/2 #TrekBookClub

I just want to say that the word “Rihannsu” is inspired. One of the more beautiful invented names. #TrekBookClub

I noticed the names “Hikaru” and “Nyota” being used. Those couldn’t have been in circulation very long at that point! #TrekBookClub

It was almost like kryptonite to the Vulcans, it was a terrible weapon. It reminds me of chemical weapons testing during WWII - they had open-air testing of chemical weapons during Vietnam about 50 or so miles from Salt Lake City. #TrekBookClub #StarTrekMyEnemyMyAlly

Ingenious linking the chess transporter from earlier to the sonic grenades. #TrekBookClub #StarTrekMyEnemyMyAlly

It became an extremely dire situation as they lost contact and reinforcement from Enterprise.

37. Since this was an early TOS novel (#18, published in 1984), there weren’t any references to self-sealing stembolts (or Chateau Picard 😊). However, there were a few callbacks to earlier TOS episodes. What were some of your favorite Trek references in #StarTrekMyEnemyMyAlly?
