An announcement. There will be plenty of time to reflect on what we've achieved, and on the fantastic colleagues who have helped us achieve it. But for now, sad news ukandeu.ac.uk/announcement... 1/2
Details of an event to mark UKICE's achievements and look ahead to what comes next will be announced soon.
@bobbyduffy.bsky.social: "@ukandeu.bsky.social has for a long time been the preeminent academic think tank in the UK...[It] set a new standard for public engagement by academics...I'm delighted that Anand will remain with us part-time at the Policy Institute"
And we're pleased that @anandmenon.bsky.social, who has directed UKICE since its launch, will continue as a Professor of British and European Politics in the Policy Institute one day a week, working on upcoming research into how values and attitudes are changing across the UK, Europe and beyond
But the UK’s relationship with Europe, and the direction of the continent as a whole, will only grow in importance in the years ahead. King's will therefore maintain UKICE's archive, keeping more than a decade of research and commentary freely available.
After remarkable 12 years, @ukandeu.bsky.social will close at the end of 2026, following the conclusion of its funding.
Based at @kingscollegelondon.bsky.social in the Policy Institute since 2014, it set a new standard for making social science accessible and injecting evidence into public debate
