I've talked a lot about Bookshop(dot)org being my favorite of the Amazon alternatives, largely because it's possible to support indie bookstores and authors there...
...but there are other cool features, like gift tracking and DRM-free eBooks!

This was my first Bradbury story as a kid, so it will always have a special place in my heart. Might still be my personal favorite of his, just for the nostalgia, though I'd readily admit that several are objectively better. π¦ππ
No problem. Definitely one of my favorite reads of the year. π
My latest read: "The Knave of Graves" by @sjshank.bsky.social

Thanks! That may take a while as I only follow authors Ive read but I may well get there eventually. ππ
Congratulations! πππ
That's a good point. I have noticed that pattern as well, though I did have a new release just a few weeks ago and haven't seen much since then. Still, there wasn't a typical marketing push there as it's a freebie, so that may be a factor as well. π€ Perhaps I'm just being optimistic. π€£π
For what it's worth, I've seen a sharp decline in the number of these I've received lately. Guess they got tired of me reporting/blocking their obviously-fake e-mail addresses. Fortunately, I think many authors are wise to this one now, which is probably also helping. Good riddance, I say! π§π
I had one last year and it really is no big deal. I'd say the peace of mind is well worth a few hours of mild inconvenience. Also, if there are any minor issues such as polyps, they can be addressed during the procedure. Yes, there's a chance something bad might be found but that's the point of it.
Was just reminded that I hadn't updated or shared this in a while, so let's fix that.
Have a look, #booksky! πͺππ©Έβ‘οΈππ
Nice pack. π Count me in if there's room.
Either way, have a look at this one, #booksky! πͺππ
ICYMI: While preparing for the launch of my first-ever crowdfunding effort, I did a series of posts on Ko-fi to better establish my presence there. Here's one of my favorites, about why I review books as an author. Have a look at all of them, #booksky! πͺππ©Έβ‘οΈππ

Apparently, you now have to hit "Edit my activity" to post a review. What is this madness?!?!? π€£
FYI: Quarter-star ratings are being rolled out on Goodreads. Just saw the option for the first time on the web site a few minutes ago. This is going to be... interesting. π€ Still processing it but my first thought is, "I wonder if people will go back and adjust their old ratings?"
Hard to believe it's been almost a year since @thenwt.bsky.social arrived on BlueSky.
A big thank you to the 100+ followers who've shown their love for The Timelines since then.
I've done my best to make it a good feed, not just for fans of my works, but for those of others as well.
Phase 2 soon!
For the record: I have no issue with the concept of AI. What I have many huge issues with are the ways the technology industry at large has bastardized the premise in pursuit of a quick buck, which are lazy, fundamentally flawed, disreputable, foolish, and dangerous at best. π€
Indeed. I feel like a lot of people sleep on them, or at least did back in the day. I suppose they're better appreciated now, though. Anyway, cool post. Might have to track that one down at some point as I haven't seen it yet. π
Ah, "The Changeling." Gotta love that one, and "The Exorcist III," for cementing George C. Scott's horror bonafides. Good times. πππ
I've had "Wildermyth" for a while but just got around to giving it a try this past weekend. Very cool so far. I like the way the ability bar contextually changes based on what the characters are standing next to in the game world. Also, it has co-op! π
What's new, you ask?
"The Nod/Wells Timelines - The Official Compendium" is nearly complete!
I've started my first-ever crowdfunding effort!
I have 6 free eBooks this #SpookySeason!
So, yeah... a lot! π€ͺππͺπππ©Έπβ‘οΈ
