I like to review the notes before starting each chapter. You never know what might strike a chord or inspire a scene.

Feast on these half-price, DRM- and-oligarch-free books!

Hell yes. Agree!

31 Days of Halloween: Island of Lost Souls (1932). Another classic tonight with the best adaptation of Wells’ The Island of Dr. Moreau. Lugosi as the Sayer of the Law. Are we not men?!

I can’t resist a nice journal. I’ll find a use for it!

Started the journal of notes—names, ideas, places, scenes, set pieces, interesting words, anything & everything that comes to mind—for the 70s crime novel. I’ll keep adding to it until I begin writing next April.

It’s excellent

Good timing for me to mention that then! The Grant Wood American Gothic painting is there too.

31 Days of Halloween: The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945). A classic for this dreary, rainy night. Saw the wonderful painting from this Oscar Wilde adaptation at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Halloween gift to myself. Alone with the Horrors: The Great Short Fiction of Ramsey Campbell, 1961-1991.

31 Days of Halloween: The Beyond (1981). Fulci masterpiece in which a woman inherits a Louisiana hotel that harbors one of the seven doors to hell. When opened, strange forces manifest, warping reality. In my horror top 10.

❤️

Honored. Thank you!
